Technical product designer

The creative consultant

In contrast to the classic field of the technical product designer, the areas of responsibility at CENIT AG are much more multilayered and complex. Documentation, configuration, design, rendering, layout and video processing are just some of the different challenges this profession has to offer. At CENIT, technical product designers are in constant direct contact with our customers in their role as application consultants. The diverse customer projects provide versatile tasks, such as holding CAD training programs, workshops or post- and presales activities.

    • As a sales partner of a leading developer for 3D software, CENIT AG provides you with access to software functionalities and the respective specialist knowledge that is non-surpassable to this extent. Your capacities as an upcoming technical product designer are not restricted to one subject area, but will provide you with extensive insight and design opportunities throughout the entire product development process of our customers. Not only will you work with CAD software, but also with further products from the CENIT AG product portfolio.

Essential emphasis here will be placed on the meaningful combination of these products in order to meet the requirements of our customers. Your tasks will particularly involve configuration and design in 3D, rendering, video processing and documenting gained knowledge. During your apprenticeship you will thus be responsible for challenging tasks that frequently involve direct customer contact.

The apprenticeship as technical product designer can be pursued at our headquarters in Stuttgart. Vocational education will be offered at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Schule in Sindelfingen.

    • The apprenticeship extends over a period of three-and-a-half years and is based on the dual system. This means you have practical phases in the company and theoretical training at the respective vocational school. There you receive vocational-theoretical courses once or twice a week, during which you take courses in project competence as well as general subjects in German, English, Social Studies and Business Studies.

In various departments at CENIT AG you will be working on challenging tasks internally as well as for customers. You will also receive sales and business knowledge at CENIT. As our customers hail from various industry sectors, the projects you will be involved in are very multifaceted and equally as challenging. Your vocational training will be rounded off by needs-based further training measures and an extensive educational program. This involves soft skill training, design training and training focused on economics.

    • As an aspiring technical product designer, your personal strengths should include inventiveness, good and spatial perception, logical thinking and technical aptitude. You should also be interested in working with CAD, be a team player and be able to work independently and proactively. Are you also reliable, creative and ambitious? Then you've come to the right place!

One of the following higher education entrance qualifications is required for the apprenticeship as a technical product designer:

      • Fachhochschulreife (advanced technical college entrance qualification)
      • Allgemeine Hochschulreife (general qualification for university entrance)

You should have good grades in the subjects German, Math, English and Science.

    • CENIT AG offers permanent employment to a large portion of their graduating apprentices. Last year, we offered 70 % of our former apprentices employment. Following your apprenticeship as a technical product designer, you could work as a CATIA application consultant in one of our departments and work on complex tasks and customer projects.
