Product Data Management

Product Data Management (PDM) is the foundation for a controlled development process and administers all product-defining data (product model) in the context of technical and organizational business processes (process model).

The product model contains all specifications required for the development, creation and use of the product, such as CAD models and drawings, FEM calculations, circuit plans and circuit board layouts, software source texts, parts and BOM information, production and assembly instructions.

The process model manages, controls and documents the process for creating or changing, releasing and provisioning of all product data.
