Early determination of clamping and fixing points

Challenge: Processes for the creation of a clamping and fixing concept, as well as the integration into different CAD systems

Solution: Analysis of the clamping points in the assembly structure and creation of the interface to knowledge-based fixture design

Benefit: The created integration into the CAD system allows a user-friendly utilization. The information can therefore be reused in subsequent processes.

Automated fixture design with parametric standard components

Challenge: Dynamic definition of tensioner assemblies and adjustment of parameters of a tensioner or fixing pin variant

Solution: Support of multiple contour stone sizes per clamp; preview of the positioned clamp assembly; collision check and parameter adjustment

Benefit: Time and cost savings by automating the design of concept fixtures; cost and effort reduction through parametric standard components

Testing of fasteners (welding spots and adhesive seams)

Challenge: Testing of fasteners in the assembly context; adaptability of test criteria and results; integration into different CAD systems

Solution: Geometric and logical tests; adaptive or fixed test values; visualization of test results in 3D

Benefit: Early fault detection in the positioning of fasteners; traceability of test results

Resource validation

Challenge: Automated welding gun validation in the complete production structure of a vehicle, as well as the relocation to a calculation server to relieve the clients.

Solution: DELMIA integration; communication with a database for controlling the calculation server; server performs more than ten calculations simultaneously in 24-hour operation through job control

Benefit: Comprehensive saving of manual activities; strong relief of clients and employees through parallel calculation
