In this course you will learn the basics of the finite element method as well as the safe handling of straightforward simulation tools of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A limitation to structures with geometrically linear deformation behavior enables an easy takeoff into the world of numerical simulations. In order to get meaningful displacements and stresses participants learn how to prepare and set up qualified finite element models. 
 

Target group

The course is intended for designers who want to incorporate simple numerical simulations to improve their designs in the concept phase.
 

Requirement

Basic knowledge of the finite element method (FEM) is helpful but it is not required. This course is a stand alone one – no other courses are needed as prerequisite.

  • Introduction into the finite element method
  • Abstraction and mathematical modeling
